portal to puerto vallarta: diario de viaje numero uno

My partner-in-crime/boyfriend/photographer for le blog and I had six days total in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, including travel days, were from Friday to the next Wednesday. I can't express just how much I loved this vacation; it was literally the perfect mix of relaxation and activities, which is precisely how I like my vacays. The first and last days were spent lolling about the incredible resort's pool (with a bar that you could swim out to grab a drink? Legit.) and the beach only a few feet away while the days in between were spent snorkeling, out on boats, kayaking, and zip-lining, mule-riding, ropelling... and swimming, playing, and "dancing" with dolphins (the latter of which I can confidently say is pretty much the best feeling in the whole entire world)!

With the minor exception of mosquito bites (the Mexican ones feel comparatively more vicious and hungry than their seemingly-meeker American counterparts) and some light sunburns, I am more than eager to come back and visit again next year. The following photos are the first part of the trip: from when we first arrived to when we sailed around the bay and quickly viewed some small, traditional Mexican towns to going out to private Robinson Crusoe-esque islands for snorkeling to dolphins. Hope you guys enjoy viewing through this charmingly tropical photoset! Also, here's a fun fact: five soft tacos with everything and all sauces are $2 USD! ...Aaand with typing that prior sentence, my stomach has instantaneously started to crave for authentic delicious, bold-flavored Mexican tacos.

  12. Fortunately, I like the darker weather as I am one of those rare people who hate Summer haha. Sorry, I know most people think that's weird, but I just hate the heat and all that, plus I have sensitivity to the sun because I have green eyes and I'm really pale so I get burnt very easily.

Anyway, I think it'll definitely be a challenge because in Portugal we have Summer-ish weather about 70%-80% of the time, so it'll take some time to get used to the darker and rainier days and also the colder temperatures. I was in London last December and I think I'd never felt so cold in my life (and it wasn't even the lowest temperatures of Winter!)
